Interview with candidate Lots
Participating in an award ceremony is courageous and the benefits often outweigh the investments and
the decision to leave the comfort zone. We asked Lieselot of Lots Flower Art why she applied and she
answered our questions with a very refreshing look.
Why do you participate in the Industry Awards?
'I've participated because I see it as a publicity stunt because you are often mentioned on social media and
your company'will be published in a wedding magazine. HL Belgium and the WIAs reach a large number of
people, more than I reach on my own social media. That's great for all candidates because you're actually
expanding your own network. Finally, your name is mentioned at the event in a room full of professional clients. So the WIAs is also some kind of networking.
Do you think the investment is worth its money?
'I don't think the WIA’s is expensive at all. If you take a look at how much your registration fee costs. You have two tickets, which is already half of your registration fee, and you are published on social media and in a wedding magazine. For €600 you don't even have an article in a wedding magazine yet and wedding fairs are twice as expensive. That's why I decided to do one wedding fair less this year. Sometimes, especially as a beginner, you have to invest in advertising. And this is a good deal.'
Participating or winning?
For me, it's not really about winning, but about the fact that your name is mentioned and that your work is put in the spotlight. These are the main reasons why I signed up.
Thank you Lieselot and good luck!
